Katherine Belzowski

Acting Assistant Attorney General at the Navajo Nation Department of Justice

Katherine Belzowski is the Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Economic Community Development (ECDU) Unit at the Navajo Nation Department of Justice (NDOJ). The ECDU represents various Navajo Nation departments including the Division of Economic Development which houses the Intellectual Property Department. Katherine advises the Department on various intellectual property issue including the unauthorized use of the Nation’s trademarks. Prior to working with ECDU, Katherine worked for 5 years with the Litigation Unit at NDOJ, and 2 years with Nevada Legal Services in Reno, Nevada in its Indian Law Program. Katherine received her B.A. from Cornell University, J.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Law, and an L.L.M. in Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy from the University of Arizona College of Law. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Katherine currently resides in Gallup, New Mexico with her three small humans, Cameron, Lucas, and Sophia.
